Chilli Guide

Welcome to the Chilli Guide - our weekly guide to which players you should be looking to bring into your team and who you should be avoiding. Who decides on the chillis and snowflakes? you may ask. You do - the guide is based on the number of times a player is transferred in and out, by you the Fantasy League Classic managers.

Each week during the season, we'll be providing a run down of the latest players who are a manager's best friend this week, only to be thrown away quicker than a Ronaldo step-over the next.

Chillis :

Edwin van der Sar - - Too Hot To Handle

Manchester United keeper Edwin van der Sar has picked up 13 clean sheets in his 28 matches this team earning him 38 Fantasy League points. Classic managers know that if the Dutchman can make that 14 at Wigan on Sunday, it will go along way to securing that the title heads back to Old Trafford.

Ricardo Carvalho - - Sizzling

Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho has not been on the losing side in a league game since November 2006. The Portuguese has had a very solid season, notching up 34 Fantasy League points and putting in a string of excellent performances. Fantasy League Classic managers believe he can add one final clean sheet on Sunday against Bolton as Chelsea try to snatch the title from Manchester United.

Sebastian Larsson - - Nice & Spicy

Birmingham midfielder Sebastian Larsson has scored some key goals for Alex McLeish's men this season, six in fact. In fact it's only Larsson and striker Mikael Forssell that look like scoring for the Blues at the moment. It's no surprise then, that Larsson is popular this week ahead of Birmingham's must-win game at home to Blackburn on Sunday.

Snowflakes :

Mark Viduka - - Cold

Newcastle have vastly improved in the last few weeks since Kevin Keegan re-shuffled his formation. Australian Mark Viduka has profited from that, bagging two goals and an assist in his last 7 games. He has not completed 90 minutes thoygh for eight matches and limped off at half-time against on Monday prompting Fantasy League Classic managers to look elsewhere.

Richard Dunne - - Freezing

Richard Dunne's recent injury prompted many Fantasy League mangers to part company with the Manchester City skipper. The Eastland's side were defeated by Liverpool last weekend on Dunne's return which will not have made too many bring him back in, especially as City are away from home, where they have been inconsistent all season, on the final day of the season.

Mario Melchiot - - Arctic

Wigan were on a fine run of clean sheets until recently when they picked up five in seven matches. Steve Bruce has really made them hard to break down and as a result his defensive players became popular in the Fantasy League Classic game. They have picked up another two in their last two games, but skipper Mario Melchiot has not profited from that as he limped off in the first half of the Reading game two weeks ago. He has since been ruled out for the season prompting managers to look elsewhere.
